The CND Planning Group consists of senior managers representing the core disciplines of the company. Their collective charge is to establish the key objectives for the organization and ensure execution as well as maintain our cultural cohesiveness.


John Heffner
President & CEO
As company President and CEO, John’s focus is defining and expanding CND’s leadership role across all categories of the professional nail care industry.
John Heffner has been with the company since 1997, when he joined as Vice President of Sales and Marketing. In January, 1999, he was promoted to General Manager. He then was named company President in March, 2000, and was appointed CEO in July, 2005.
John’s background includes high-level national sales, trade marketing and operations duties in the beauty care division of Procter & Gamble, as well as playing a key marketing and customer management role at Unilever’s Cheseborough-Ponds.
In 2006/2007, John served as the Chairman of the Governance Board for the Professional Beauty Association. in 2007, he was honored as the recipient of the "Spirit of Hope" Award presented by the City of hope, recognizing his exceptional personal, professional and philanthropic achievements.
Jan Arnold
Co-Founder
As Co-founder and Style Director, as well as the daughter of Dr. Stuart Nordstrom, the brilliant dentist and organic chemist whose discoveries and patents launched our company, Jan is the electrifyingly dynamic link between the worlds of professional nail beauty and international high fashion.
Since CND’s incorporation in 1979, Jan brings both powerful acumen as a brand engineer and a dynamic fashion sense to her many roles within the company. As a result, she has become one of beauty’s “Beautiful People”, topping the list of the handful of experts constantly sought out by the fashion as well as beauty press.
In turn, Jan has made CND an "A-Lister" on the world’s red carpets and runways, particularly in the exhilarating venue of New York Fashion Week, where her team preps thousands of custom-nails for top designers’ catwalk collections every couture season.
Jan is in year-round demand as a speaker on the beauty trade-show circuit, with a travel itinerary taking her from Des Moines to Dubai and beyond.
Jacquie Johnson
Sr. VP of Marketing & Communications
As Senior Vice President of Marketing and Communications, Jacquie is dedicated not only to developing and fortifying CND’s international marketplace dominance, but also to enriching and expanding the professional nail care industry overall. Bringing more than two decades of corporate marketing expertise to the table, education and innovation are foremost priorities in Jacquie’s work.
Jacquie Johnson joined CND in 2000, and under her leadership has led the brand to unprecedented industry honors: 20 coveted ABBIES presented each year by the American Beauty Association, as well as 41 First Place honors in the prestigious "Readers Choice" Awards.
Prior to joining CND, Jacquie held executive positions in the healthcare and professional service industries with Aetna US Healthcare and Prudential Insurance Company.


Kim Natale
Vice President of Marketing
As Vice President of Marketing, Kim Natale oversees the team responsible for CND’s professional product categories, corporate branding and web and media strategies.
Kim joined CND’s marketing department in January, 2000. Initially, she managed all aspects of CND’s Spa Product category, then launched and managed the company’s innovative Spa Division through 2007.
Fluency in new media enabled her to reposition, strategize and implement the brand’s corporate website and online brand center. In 2007, Kim also played a critical role in launching CND’s dynamic rebranding initiative.
Her multidisciplinary work history includes expertise in market research for the health care industry, as well as marketing and customer service in the field of telecommunications.
Tony Nemer
VP of International Sales
As VP of International Sales for CND, Tony Nemer brings more than two decades of international acumen to his work with developing new markets in North America and overseas.
Tony Nemer joined CND in 2007. His perspective is uniquely valuable in that he speaks five languages and has lived and worked in Germany, Spain Venezuela, Mexico and Canada, and has done business in more than 50 countries throughout his career.
Prior to joining CND, Tony played a crucial role with the Redken company, where over the duration of 15 years international sales grew from 4% to 35% of the company’s total business, expanding from 5 to 45 countries in that time. Calling upon his understanding of business, culture and diplomacy, Tony also worked with Revlon Professional, where he was responsible for the pivotal Latin America, Australia and Far East divisions. Most recently, he worked with the innovative men’s hair product line American Crew, which expanded into 20 new countries in less than three years during his tenure there.
Rhonda Benbo
VP Global Business Development
As Vice President of Global Business Development, Rhonda’s expertise shines in identifying and developing new domestic and international channels of business for CND.
Rhonda has been with the company since 1985, beginning as an educator in the Mid Western USA teaching technical workshops. In1988, she joined CND full-time as the Far West Regional Sales Manager. Her broad range of skills also embraced corporate training, public relations and copywriting for the CND brand.
Between 1995 and 2007, Rhonda’s leadership led to explosive expansion within the International Division, growing from an initial 4 markets to more than 65 in the span of 12 years.
Rhonda joined the beauty industry in 1982 as a licensed nail technician. She also has experience in salon management and ownership, enriching her current work.

Tom Nordstrom
Founding Family
As one of CND’s proud co-founders, Tom represents the family legacy which backs the brand’s brilliance. He began working for the family business when he was 17 years old, and his influence still is felt in all key areas of the company.
Tom is responsible for establishing and managing the manufacturing, quality control, purchasing, inventory control, logistics and other related support departments for CND. Additionally, Tom designed and managed the construction of the current corporate offices located in Vista, California as well as the brand’s Research and Development laboratory.
He has also served as Chairman of the Nail Manufacturers Council – Safety and Standard Committee, and has participated as an Advisory Board Member at the Birch Aquarium at Scripps Institute of Oceanography.
In 2001, Tom retired from his prior position as Vice President of Operations, and now serves as a consultant at CND, assisting the Marketing and Research Development teams in areas including operational logistics, new product launches, and other special projects.
